How To Fit Driving Lessons Around School Or Work Schedules

How To Fit Driving Lessons Around School Or Work Schedules

We all lead busy lives and whether you’re a student or in employment, fitting driving lessons into your schedule can sometimes be challenging. Learning to drive is an exciting time but like anything, practice makes perfect.

We usually find that our students need at least 35 – 45 hours of lessons to pass their tests. Unlike other driving schools, we offer different time slots, rather than the usual 2 hours. With us, you can book a lesson for the duration of anything from 1 hour.

We’re often asked whether you need to have passed your theory test prior to starting lessons. The answer is no, but it’s very useful to be in the process of revision, ready for your theory test. You will make much greater progress in the early stages because you will already have a strong knowledge base to work from. For example, you will be able to recognise road markings and know some of the highway code.

During your theory exam, you will also do some hazard perception tests, which will definitely help with safe driving.

Here are some tips to help you fit lessons around your schedule.

Get Up Early

Getting up earlier in the mornings is a great way to get some driving practice in. We’re happy to let you book driving lessons around your schedule, each week, every week.

The great thing about early mornings is that the roads tend to be a bit quieter, plus once you’re done with your lesson you can get on with the rest of your day.

Change Your Pick Up And Drop Off Points

By its very nature, having a car means you could be anywhere so we start our driving lessons at colleges, workplaces and from people’s homes. It makes sense to get tuition in a wide number of environments, thus building confidence for when you get your full license. We’re happy to be flexible.

Make Time At The Weekend

You may feel that you have bigger blocks of time at the weekend. If you want to build a lesson plan where you have a two-hour lesson at the weekend, for example, talk to your driving instructor.

Book A Block Of Lessons In Advance

It may be helpful to book a block of driving lessons in one go. That way you pre-book several dates in advance and get them in your diary meaning you keep yourself free for those lessons. We also offer a discount when booking a block of lessons with us.

At Totally Driving, we’re happy to create bespoke driving lessons to fit every student, helping maximise confidence and increase driving ability in the shortest time at the same time as maintaining a fun, stress free learning experience. Get in touch today.
