Christmas Gift Ideas For New Drivers

Passing your driving test is a big life event and once you do, your car becomes your pride and joy. If you have a newly qualified driver, or learner driver, in your life and you’re wondering what to get for Christmas, we have some great ideas to inspire you.

From items to keep their car looking clean and tidy, to novelty accessories and safety items, with our suggestions you’re bound to find something to delight in our list.

What to get someone who has just passed their driving test

Car air freshener

That new car smell is one of the perks of owning a car but sadly, it doesn’t last forever. Keep the interior smelling lovely with the gift of an air freshener. These will make great stocking fillers or Secret Santa gifts. Why not buy a few different scents so your recipient can choose their favourite?

Car vacuum cleaner

As well as keeping a car smelling fresh, help teen drivers keep it clean too. A mini vacuum cleaner is very handy and will keep car seats looking as good as new.

Personalised keyring

Give them something personalised to keep their car keys on – a personalised keyring is a great keepsake. Why not gift one in their favourite colour or choose one with the first initial of their name.

Heated seat cushion

A lovely little luxury, especially during the winter months – a heated seat cushion will keep drivers warm and toasty on their travels.

Dash cam

Dash cams can be a great thing to have in the car, especially for new, inexperienced drivers. It can help insurers to work out who is at fault in the event of an accident. Some insurers also offer discounts to drivers with dash cams. A great gift for teenage drivers.

Sat nav

Passing your test is one thing, but getting used to navigating from A to B is another. Help build confidence with a sat nav – a great way to get used to driving to new places.

Roadside safety kit

Make sure they have everything they need should they run into trouble on the road with a roadside safety kit. Choose one that includes essentials such as a hazard warning triangle, reflective emergency jacket, LED torch, a tow rope, seatbelt cutter, boost cables and a tyre inflator. Why not include a first aid kit too?
